A passing thought

I was trying to come catch up on some cleaning today and behind the curtain I found a dead moth. On first glance it was a dull mix of Creams and browns but as I lifted it to throw it out the window I noticed a rich copper that caught the light and I thought how sad . They have such a short life span but none so short at the dragon fly. It puts so much effort into growing and developing in to the most beautiful creature only to survive for a mere 24 hours .Its goal in life is to attract a mate and die after it completes the cycle of its species.

We too put so much effort into continuing our species. We strive to grow and have children of our own, love and nurture them into adulthood. But for us this is merely a passing phase, unlike the dragon fly we don’t cease when we produce our children indeed we don’t cease to exist with death. For us we only truly radiant when we join our Father in heaven; that’s where we get our beautiful wings.

Heaven’s Wings
by Jennifer Kassne

In this sorrowed world
A void only you can fill
Let me pray
For wings to lift me up

To cross an angel’s path
Their wings for me to borrow
Perhaps to even have
And a hope for me to grasp

Chorus:

Let me fly to heaven
With Heaven’s borrowed wings
To see the joy upon your face
Beyond the evil of the world
And into your arms of a loving embrace

Maybe it’s more than just a dream
Simplicity, but yet a reality
To see this world through Heaven’s eyes
And share your love with different heights

A joy, a sorrow yet restrained
New vision, new life, a new joy regained
The borrowed wings must be returned
For Heaven’s taught a lesson learned

Chorus:

Let me fly to heaven
With Heaven’s borrowed wings
To see the joy upon your face
Beyond the evil of the world
And into your arms of a loving embrace
