Music Monday : Take to the world

Gosh haven’t had a music monday for a while . This is a song that means a lot to me and I have meant to to put it on for quite a while . For those of you who are interested I Just found out its based on the Episcopalian Benediction.

Take to the world

Go in peace to love and to serve
And let your ears ring long with what you have heard
And may the bread on your tongue leave a trail of crumbs
To lead the hungry back to the place that you are from

And take to the world this love hope and faith
Take to the world this rare relentless grace
And like the three in one
Know you must become what you want to save
‘Cause that’s still the way
He takes to the world

Go and go far take light deep in the dark
Believe what’s true use it as all, even you
May the bread on your tongue leave a trail of crumbs
To lead the hungry back to the place you are from

  1. “Go in peace to love and to serve
And let your ears ring long with what you have heard
And may the bread on your tongue leave a trail of crumbs
To lead the hungry back to the place that you are from”

These words are lovely, Gil. At the end of mass the Priest always says “Go in peace to love and serve the Lord”…and the image of leaving a trail of crumbs! Oh my ~ this is the most spiritually beautiful stuff I have read for a while (and I read a lot!)

I may ‘borrow’ those lyrics šŸ˜‰
