My dear friend over at Called to serve sent me this and I finally got round to making the time to watch it today – so amazing- God is amazing and well worth the 8 minutes.

Bear and I had gone and bought some plants for the garden on saturday and we spent a lovely afternoon planting them in some pots on Sunday afternoon. Normanly my Dad grows everything but this year hes decided to cut back and not heat his green house so much .

Our first attempt at a hanging basket – so will have to wait and see how it turns out , Im sure they have grown  already – most be the warm wet weather

A little rant

Anyone that knows me knows I hate driving at night , a little bit night blind and tend to get lost if Im somewhere different .Im fne short distances A to B or even C . Otherwise I avoid it . So wasnt too happy when I picked my eldest son up to find that his girlfriends bus hadnt arrived – or as i though was more likely she had missed it . It meant me driving along a country road – no lights – one of the joys of semi rural living – you dont have to go far to appear out in the sticks . Got there fine but on the way back I was driving along when a large siver jeep appeared on my tail and I mean practically attached . I refused to speed up and after a while flashed my warning light – I got a full beam flash back which made me cross so i eased off – slowing down – I did hope he would overtake but really there wasnt a place and he was too close for me to pull in . Warning lights failed again so I lightly touched my break and let me tell you he fairly pulled back . It was only when i got home and got out of the car that i realised my legs where shaking I guess 45miles a hour is too slow for some but fast enough for me on a long winding road in the dark . When he got home he probaly complained about some stupid female driving along at 10 mile an hour .

A Graduation

Well I may not be graduating but i have a friend who did on friday night and Im so proud of her – She attended the BBC – Belfast Blble College p/t for 3 years . Graduation service was in the spires in Belfast and it was such an awesome service – wonderful sermon by a pastor from scotland who attended  the college nearly 25 years ago . Based on Jesus`s simple words ” come follow me ” – very fitting for the 200 graduates who are about to set forth and “Follow”  Jesus .  Some wont go far but many will return to their own homelands including sudan and kenya. Our thoughts were drawn in prayer to 2 former students who are in Burma and China in the middle of the disaster areas – especially Burma where what ever we see in the news , conditions are much much worse.

Praise was wonderful but for me it was the Africa students singing – I may not speak their lauguage but God`s love radiated through their praise and I felt so blessed by being there and sharing their special time .

Open Doors: Iran

In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven

Matthew 5:16 [NIV]

IRAN – Middle East

Police in the southern Iranian city of Shiraz this month cracked down against known Muslim converts to Christianity, arresting members of three Christian families and confiscating their books and computers.

On 11 May, Homayon Gholamzadeh, and his wife Fariba, and Amir Hussein and his wife Fatemeh,  were taken into custody before boarding their flights at Shiraz International Airport and sent directly to jail. All four were subjected to hours of interrogation, questioning them solely just about their faith and house church activities.

Police authorities also invaded the home of Hamid Allaedin Hussein, arresting him and his three adult children, Fatemah Muhammed Ali and Mojtaba.

In other incidents, two house church members in Shiraz and two MBBs in the northern city of Amol were arrested, one a pregnant woman, who is still in prison. Over the past two years, Iran’s harsh Shiite Muslim regime has continued to arrest, harass and intimidate dozens of citizens involved in the nation’s mushrooming house church movements.

The large number of Iranians embracing Christianity has been attributed in part to the number of radio stations and satellite television channels now broadcasting Christian programmes in Farsi into the country 24 hours a day.

Local Iranian Christian converts report that Islamist regime is so unpopular and its citizens so disillusioned with Islam, that thousands are now willing to risk arrest, lashings and even death to find peace and purpose for their lives.

Please pray…

  • That the families arrested and in particular for the pregnant lady who is still in prison at the time of writing, that they would be filled with strength, hope and peace.
  • That more people would come to Christ despite government harassment.
  • For the success of Christian broadcasters as they seek to cross closed boarders with the Gospel.

We have revamped the Open Doors website

It now includes the latest news from the Persecuted Church.

Thank you for praying with us.

Proud Mummy .

A proud mummy moment today . Bear came out of school today beaming – he had received the high achiever award   for working hard at his writing .

Of course we had to take a picture – he`s such a little poser for the camera and loves taking them as well.

I have mixed feelings about these sorts of awards- Im aware that their are several children in his class – including him  until today that have been a bit anxious about not getting the award . Not an exam but still pressure for such young children – what if at the end of the year a child hasnt got it – Im sure they deserve it for something because they have all achieved so much in their first year of primary school – every one a little achiever , proud Mums all round.
